Viktor Pavlovich Kabanov

1924 -

Born in Saratov 1924. Studied at Saratov Art College until 1948, and at the Surikov Institute 1952-58. Active in Moscow, where he began exhibiting in 1957. Showed at the "Soviet Russia" exhibition in 1960. Specialized in thematic pictures. Visited the Virgin Lands of Siberia repeatedly in the 1950s and 60s. taught at art school in Phnom-Pen, Cambodia, 1968-69. His most famous work is "The Virgin Land Lives" (1961). Works in major public collections throughout Russia.
