Marthe Fequet was a French master printer and typographer active in Paris in the mid-20th century. With her husband, Albert-Pierre Baudier, she co-founded the renowned printing studio, Fequet et Baudier, which went on to collaborate with many leading modern artists. Miró and Fequet developed a close friendship, and from around 1948 they worked together harmoniously in creating printed works  for more than 30 years. Miró sometimes dedicated his original artworks and graphics to Marthe as a gesture of friendship and appreciation. This present copy is one such dedicated example.
